Upgrading the Water Feature

A Little Piece of Zen

In my current living space, I have a small water feature that helps feed a small aquaponic setup. In this water feature, I have included a few aquatic plants to brighten up the outdoor living space. Unfortunately, these plants were mostly stacked on bricks or other terra cotta pots within the water feature. This caused a lot of clutter within the small 20 gallon barrel, and led to the plant falling into the water if the pots tipped during bad weather. Enter in “Turd Slinger”, my new 3D printer!

With some TinkerCAD tutorials under my belt, I logged in, and began setting about laying out a few ideas. Calipers in hand, I measured some base dimensions of the terra cotta pot in question and cracked open my browser. With these measurements, I was able to craft a pot hanger that would hang on to the lip of the barrel that held the water, while also supporting the bottom of the terra cotta pot in the water line of the water feature. You can find the object here on TinkerCAD and print it yourself!
